E-18: The Electronics and Robotics Industry in Denmark
S3 Semiconductors attended the recent E-18 show in Odense, Denmark. The 3-day electronics fair which ran from the 11th to the 13th of September at the Odense Congress Centre was a collection of all that is Danish in the Electronics and Robotics industry, with a good International representation also. There were three halls at the event – one focused on Robotics, one for production and one for electronics. Alongside the show was a conference with a wide variety of topical papers being presented.
The show itself had good attendance with a steady trickle of people passing through over the three days. There was a high attendance of university students which was not surprising considering the number of universities and colleges in the Odense area. There was also good attendance from high school students learning about the electronics and robotics industry as they make future decisions on their career and study paths.
The conference was integrated into the show by having the various presentations taking place in areas on the actual show floor rather than in a separate conference area. The use of headphones to listen to the speakers meant the outside noises from the show were not an issue. It was an excellent way to integrate the two, conference and show, and meant that attendees could pop into the papers they wanted to hear while still getting to visit as many of the booths on display.
S3 Semiconductors and Arm
S3 Semiconductors, an approved design partner of Arm, supported Arm on their booth at the show. Arm was showcasing their design start program where users have access to Arm M0 and M3 core IP’s with no upfront costs. It was a great opportunity to speak with Danish companies about S3 Semiconductors custom ASIC offerings and how we can integrate Arm cores onto the custom silicon we design and develop along with the mixed signal and RF IP required to meet our customer’s performance requirements.
